Noopept (N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester) is a cyclic dipeptide derived from Piracetam, developed in Russia in the 1990s. Per-dose roughly 1000× more potent than Piracetam (10-30 mg/day vs. 4800 mg/day). Mechanism: AMPA + NMDA glutamatergic modulation plus NGF (nerve growth factor) and BDNF upregulation. OTC in Russia under the Noopept name; research chemical in EU/USA.

  • Irritability, agitation, especially at higher doses (>40 mg/day)
  • Insomnia, disturbed sleep if taken late in the day

  • Mild dizziness or fatigue in some users
  • Tolerance and reduced effect with continuous, non-cycled use
