Semax vs SelankWHAT IS SELANK?
Detailed overview
Selank is a Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro heptapeptide, a proline-stabilized analog of the natural immunomodulator Tuftsin (TKPR). Developed in Russia for anxiolytic use; intranasal spray. Mechanism: GABAergic tone elevation (subunit-selective, non-sedating) + BDNF expression + serotonergic + enkephalinergic modulation. Unlike benzodiazepines, does NOT cause sedation or dependence. Cognition parity or mild enhancement also documented. Note: peptide-library duplicate, with different framing.

Safety
Side effects, stop signs, contraindications
Side effects · 6
- Nasal mucosa irritation, mild stinging or dryness at the intranasal application site
- Mild headache or dizziness, especially with initial doses
- Fatigue or mild lethargy in some users, despite the non-sedating profile
- Irritability or mood fluctuation, particularly on discontinuation
- Rare allergic or hypersensitivity reaction due to the peptide structure
- Some users report no perceptible effect at all (variable response)
Contraindications · 6
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: no peptide-specific human safety data, avoid
- Known hypersensitivity to Selank or Tuftsin analogs
- Active autoimmune disease: caution due to the immunomodulatory (Tuftsin-derived) action
- Not recommended as monotherapy in severe depression, specialist supervision required
- Caution with benzodiazepines and alcohol due to theoretical additive GABAergic effect
- With SSRIs only under clinical monitoring, due to serotonergic modulation

FAQ
FAQ
Selank is a lab-developed peptide (originally from Russian research) taken as a nasal spray, used mainly to reduce anxiety without causing drowsiness or dependence. In clinical trials for generalized anxiety disorder it showed efficacy comparable to sedative anti-anxiety medication, without the memory impairment or dependence risk, and it may also give a mild mood lift and help protect thinking under stress.
